George W. Bush Won The War On Terror
Of course he did. That allows President Obama to play the role of eloquent diplomat and beloved peacemaker: George W. Bush and Dick Cheney did the heavy lifting. They brought Al-Qaeda to battle in Iraq and beat him. Al-Qaeda wasn’t there before we got there, you say? So what? Iraq was more important to Al-Qaeda than Afghanistan ever was or will be–and probably a lot more winnable. Al-Qaeda had to come after us in Iraq or show it could be beaten in the one area it couldn’t afford to lose–the Arab Middle East. It did, it lost, and unlike in Afghanistan it couldn’t find shelter in the hills of Pakistan.
George Bush won the war on terror. All President Obama can do now is lose it…
What?
Wow what a remarkably incoherent posting. “They brought Al-Qaeda to battle in Iraq and beat him”. Al-Qaeda is not one guy. And did you notice our soldiers have never stopped dying there? But look on the bright side you now have a president you don’t like so you can blame him for the blunder.
Really? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure people still want to kill us. Like, more people. People whose homes we’ve destroyed, people who’ve lost their families and friends, people who we’ve tortured with very little evidence.
“Terror” is nothing but an idea, and the only claim more ridiculous than saying there are “winners” in war is saying that we won the war on terror.
That’s funnier than anything I could come up with. Bravo!
